Description

Originally a dirt/gravel jeep road, Scenic Drive is now mostly singletrack running North-South along the base of the Franklin Mountains range. There are two mines cut in to the mountain to the west of the trail near the Old Tin Mine / Mundy's Gap trail intersection. These mines were in operation from 1909-1915 and have the distinction of being the only tin mines ever located in the U.S. Each mine is accessible to the public.

This trail is mostly dirt with some gravel and scree areas. The northern part of the trail is very rocky, but easily rideable. Descending this part of the trail at high speeds will put your bike shocks to the test. This trail offers some amazing views of the mountains and foothills.

Getting there with a bike is a bit of a heart attack. One climb on the trail. Low technical. — 11h 00m

A fun and fast trail, high up in the Franklin Mountains. Mostly singletrack, this trail offers beautiful views and is a bit risky.
