Township Trail is the most challenging section of the Hubbard Hills trail system. It subscribes to the "stacked loop" trail design with trail pieces becoming increasingly more difficult the further one gets from the trailhead. Township Trail is supa twisty with bermed corners, short ups and downs, and features interesting uses of the sinkholes found in the local karst topography while flowing through hardwoods and pines. The "Toilet Bowl" and "The Armpit" are two of the more unique technical features found in this trail.
About Hubbard Hills:
In 2010, Vernon Trails formed a relationship with a private land owner in Viroqua to build a shared-use trail system on 25+ acres of land that starts in town and spans just beyond city limits. Due to the easy accessibility of this trail system, the trails have been designed to offer something fun for all abilities of trail users. Since the development of this trail system, Vernon Trails has started working on adjacent lands to add additional mileage and with the plans of building a connector trail to Sidie Hollow County Park.
