East Overland Trail: Option 1

The East Overland Trail started 3 miles to the south, but at the start of this trail, it splits into two options.

Heading north, this option drops down to a creek crossing. The other side of the creek crossing used to be an impossibly steep climb up to Harris Hollow Rd. But in 2013, the IMBA Trail Care Crew came out for a weekend of trailbuilding training, and helped direct the replacement of this section with a fun switchbacking climb.

Once it crosses Harris Hollow Rd. it continues on until it ends on Old Chautauqua Rd. The Overland Trail proper continues east on this road. But you may be interested in heading west and taking Option 2 to go back to the Overland trail leading back to Harris Hill state forest.
