Description

This is a short but sweet singletrack loop with a couple of connectors that can also be accessed from the adjacent Sangamon Valley Rail Trail. There are some nice bridges and the area is generally well-maintened.

The trail was developed by the Springfield Area Mountain Bike Association in the late 1990s early 2000s. CILTA now helps the board of trustees and other kind hearted volunteers to maintain. It is clearly surrounded by a residential area, and its proximity to the rail trail makes this popular for walkers, runners, and riders. Stay alert.

Fantastic beginner trail. Not bad for what there is to work with. You really have to make several laps to make the trip to the trail worth it. Add in speed and as many obstacles as possible for more challenge. Recommendation to CILTA: more jumps. And add some log rides. Nov 24, 2014
