Description

The Cannon Ball Loop, marked as purple, is intermediate level. It is a 1.57 mile fast, smooth roller-coaster that starts at the four-way intersection on the top of the north spur of Shades Mountain. You can ride this one twice by turning right at the point where the (Green) Iron Runner Loop trail continues. A short uphill and twice the fun!! Go back uphill here and triple the fun but this time take the left at the (Red) Pig Iron loop trail. On your way down take the more advance rock hops and get air. As an alternate, ride straight on the Pig Iron Loop, keep going straight till you reach a road. left turn to pick up the IMBA trail on your right (very easy to get lost here - although the road will take you out if you do). This one has plenty of advance rock features similar to the Iron Runner trail....there is some new advanced trail going in back in this part of the park - shhhh, don't tell anybody. I rode it by accident when the signs ran out and I had to GPS my way back home. All in all, a stellar day! Sep 27, 2014
