The layout for this park is simple to follow. Once you're at the trailhead, there are four loops to choose from: A Loop
Trail, B Loop
Trail, C Loop Trail, D Loop Trail
. There will be a map board that will tell you the length and difficulty of each trail. Most of it is very fast singletrack, some of it technical. They all will loop around back to the trailhead. In order to ride the entire trail, take each left-hand turn after departing the trailhead.
The riding is densely wooded singletrack with rolling hills just outside Tyler, TX. There are okay ascents some with switchbacks but nothing too difficult and some very nice descents that have good flow that allows you to carry speed around corners. There are a couple of descents that are fairly steep and straight where you can get some good speed.
This C Loop Trail has some good switchback climbing that takes some endurance and technical skill to climb.
Tyler State Park also has overnight camping, picnic pavilions, and tables, restrooms with toilets and showers, fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing.
