A gently flowing trail with rock gardens and dry stream crossings, currently an out-and-back.

Gary Schweisthal

Overview

Description

The trail begins after crossing the road from the first gravel path on Gneiss & Smooth. Take a right at the fork, fly down the hill, take another right and cross the road again. The Pokerville entrance is on the right just down from the road.

Every few hundred feet or so, the trail crosses small dry stream beds, some of which can be challenging. As it winds its way toward the connector to Military Ridge, you'll encounter some rock gardens. After crossing the connector, the trail opens up a bit and the descent angle increases and allows for more speed, with the occasional switchback reversal, and finally ends where trail work is suspended, pending further approval. Turn around and climb back out, or optionally, climb up the connector, take a left in the campgrounds, and then a right up the gravel path and to the left, which leads to the middle of Home Stretch, then take that sweet downhill section back to the parking lot.
