“This trail begins a number of route options and has many optional technical features.”
— Gary Schweisthal
This trail consists of moderately easy to intermediate singletrack, but there are several optional features for those wishing to make it interesting, including a skinny and several rock drops. It also progresses a bit and gets more challenging the farther you go.
Park at the parking lot near the swimming pool and Friends of Blue Mounds shelter. Begin at the trailhead by the bike wash, please make sure you have your trail pass, and obey the trail closing sign if present.
At the first gravel crossing you can stay on the trail to continue along the Mound Loop, or take a right and cross the road, which leads to Over Lode
The singletrack continues on to Chert Dip
. Optionally, you can bail out onto the gravel trail (John Minix), and take this around back to the trailhead.
