Getting forecast...

A convenient, nice trail near the heart of the metro Grand Rapids area.

Features -none-

Family Friendly Relatively easy trail, "ride-arounds" for most of the features...(log piles, etc.)

Closed from dusk to dawn.

Description

The singletrack trail branches off of the paved Plaster Creek Trail just a couple hundred yards west of the Ken-O-Sha school. Part of the trail is on the south side, part on the north side of the paved trail.

Currently (2016) there are signs showing where the trailhead is... look for wooden posts with white plastic arrows-a little west of the school. Most of the trail is generally ridden clockwise, however the longer section right next to the creek (with the wooden bridges) is usually counter-clockwise...there are also some two-way sections. Just watch out for other riders and hikers.

This is a great trail for people who live near this area of town, or for someone who wants to try out mountain biking for the first time! It's fun, but not difficult.

Did I mention that it has the only "MTB suspension bridge" in town??? Look for it on an optional side trail!

Was in the area for work. Took a short ride and checked out the trail. Not bad for a small area. A number a small features to make it interesting. — 1h 00m

Some signs have been taken down by vandals. The south loop is easy enough to find, and if you find the concrete bridge, you have found the north loop

The trail is just north of the school where the park parking lot is. Look for the large wooden sign, follow the little path to the paved trail, turn left (west) once on the paved trail, and the mountain bike trail will soon be off to the left, and shortly after another loop off to the right. Just ride down the paved path and keep lookout for paths going off the main paved trail. Nov 6, 2016
Trail is broken up in small pieces that are left. No signs. Not a fun ride. Jun 13, 2017
The few negative comments here are referring to the long abandoned "Creek Trail", which WAS a paved trail next to the south bank of the creek....half of it is now IN the creek and the other half overgrown. The current MTB trail branches off the newer asphalt trail just a little bit to the west of the school parking area. One loop is on the left, one on the right, trust me...it's there. Jun 16, 2017
