Description

Quemazon trail starts at the water tank just off the top of Trinity Dr. There is a dirt parking lot and sign at the trailhead. This ride can be done as a climb from there, or as a descent by climbing up Pipeline Road first. It used to be more technical until the forest service ran a bulldozer up it 10 years ago to fight the Cerro Grande fire, then again 2 years ago to fight the Las Canchas fire. Neither of these bulldozings had any effect on the fire, but they required a lot of trail work to put Quemazon back together.

The result is a trail that is smoother and undulating, but is still somewhat technical, more so as a downhill. This is a pretty strenuous climb though, as it ascends 1400' in 3 miles. The views are pretty good from this trail.
