Description

Somewhat hidden just south of the Table Mesa Park-n-Ride lies CU South Campus. South Campus features a tennis complex and the Buffalo Ranch Cross Country course and two miles of dirt road around the parameter of the old gravel quarry.

The best use of CU South Campus is as a starting/ending point for big rides to the Marshall Mesa area. The parking lot is rarely (if ever) as crowded as the Marshall Mesa trailhead parking lot, so groups can meet here instead and add a few miles of warm up and cool down. Even better catch the RTD bus to Table Mesa Park-n-Ride and leave the car at home.

To get to the Mesa Marshall area from CU South Campus, head west on the dirt road from the southwestern most point of the loop and take a left on Marshall Road.

Avoid the temptation to take the faint dirt road heading south from the southernmost point of the loop. It threatens to link up to the South Boulder Creek Trail, but then kills that fun by dead ending at a fence instead.
