One of many loop options, a steady climb, some scrambling, then a steep descent.

Overview

A challenging, up-and-down ride along the outermost trails at Jumbo.
Dogs: Off-leash

Description

This ride starts at the east side of Paonia. Enter the gate and stay left. The ride is mostly singletrack with some doubletrack sections. After one to two miles of fairly flat terrain on North Gully, it's a steady climb with occasional switchbacks on Powerline Rd and Slant'n'Dicular.

Halfway through the loop, there is some hike-a-bike terrain on Slant'n'Dicular. Then you'll get a chance to relax in a hammock set up at the top around the Grassy Knoll.

Finally, enjoy a descent on some fairly steep singletrack on Jumbo Ridge. Many other loop options exist in the lower portion of the ride with a number of trails that criss-cross this loop that are worth exploring.
