A fun and challenging ride through some nice singletrack, steep rocks and everything between.

Overview

No dogs.
This is a great loop beginning near Napa Valley College heading up and up and up and through a ton of fun stuff in Skyline.

Need to Know

Horses are out sometimes so always be mindful around blind corners.

Description

Once you finish the River to Ridge Trail, the climb up Buckeye is a lung-buster. After that you'll have some more climbing before you descend towards Lake Marie. The Teuter Loop is a must-do, especially since the way back down is fast and fun. If you cross the creek again on your way back from the Teuter Loop you've gone too far.

Heading up Chaparral Trail is a tough challenge, but the impossibly steep rock can be cleaned.

First time out... great fun. While there is a lengthy climb, this one earns its black diamond based on technical terrain. 14.2mi — 2h 28m

A bit more clear instructions: From Lake Marie Rd follow Buckeye Trail until it merges with Skyline Trail near Lake Marie. Keep on Skyline Trail until Tuteur Loop (take this clockwise). Return on Skyline Trail, take Chaparral Trail to Marie Creek Trail. Finish on Manzanita Trail. Nov 2, 2014

As of Saturday Jan. 2nd Tuteur Loop is closed. Buckeye is pretty muddy at spots. Still great technical riding to be had. Jan 4, 2016
