“Mostly good intermediate singletrack but a long steep hike near the end detracts a bit.”
— Nick Wilder
Rawhide starts off with smooth, wide doubletrack that rolls just a bit until you hit a campground and the intersection with Waterhole. Turn left on singletrack and encounter some moderately challenging waterbars that will be rideable by confident intermediates. Contour around a hill on nice, fairly easy trail with great scenery.
You'll pass the other end of Waterhole, and continue on good singletrack until you start descending steeply to a creek bottom. Many people will want to dismount for a few short sections. Once at the creek bottom, the trail has been re-routed recently and switchbacks up a fairly smooth gentle grade up to the parking area.
With the new re-routes its recommended to do this trail clockwise or you'll have a big hike a bike climb after the creek.
Most of the trail is intermediate, but the downhill to the creek on the east side is fairly technical in spots.
