Description

Sometimes referred to as Prison Camp, the Molino Basin Trail starts at the parking area above the Molino Basin campground. After a short climb, riders begin a fun, rocky descent through the valley, complete with fast romps over rock and tight 180 switchbacks.

While there are a few short climbs, the trail is almost entirely a dance with gravity. The trail can be ridden on its own for a short burst of fun, or can be linked with Bug Springs above and La Milagrosa below.

It's a fun ride to be sure. Some switchbacks, chunk and jumps and relatively short. Worth doing if you're also hitting Bugs. I've seen horseback riders and hikers on the lower portion, so ride responsibly. Oct 21, 2016
