“A fast, flowy downhill blast through through the woods.”
— Edddgy ..
Don't park in the schoolbus turnaround or people's driveways. Watch for motorized MX bikes, and hikers.
Can be shuttled if gates are open on Elkhorn Mountain Road, otherwise it's a mild pedal up to the top that makes for a nice 1/2 loop. It begins at the southwest corner of the radio tower and is a steady 10-15% grade descent of 700 feet over 1 mile.
The trail weaves under the dense canopy of a combination of deciduous and pine and can feel tight in spots. The few jumps and features are optional and everything is rollable on a short travel trail bike. The personality of this trail is fast and flowy. This is appealing to motorized MX bikes that share the trail and keep the berms nice and loamy. Lower elevation means no snow!
