The Beaver "Ponds" are marshy clearings near the Blacktail Ridge.
The Highland Mountains poke out from behind the trees in the distance from the sandy singletrack of the Continental Divide Trail.
There was a forest fire in the middle of the Blacktail Ridge during the summer of 2024. Fortunately the trail was relatively unharmed.
