This was taken just after crossing Finzbach Creek in the remote Finztalbachal Valley.
The mountains tower off in the distance from the Finztalbach Loop.
Looking forward to the last descent from Wamberg into Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The warmup section from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Grainau is in the shadow of the Zugspitze, the highest point in Germany at 2962 m (9718 ft).
Sometimes you'll find that spiders have left webs bridging the trails overnight. There are spiders and then there are SPIDERS. Be mindful of man eating spiders along the Wettersteinrunde.
Stopping for a moment to enjoy the views and the solitude on the 17-mile descent along the Gaistalbach stream.
