This is a section of trail that recently had tons of big, white and red oak trees fall, opening the upper canopy and letting the understory plants grow more dense. This is a sensitive area and not ideal for go-arounds.
The boardwalk on the lower trail section where the fallen beech tree has added a little extra funk.

Same iconic A-frame has a go-around if needed. Many would reserve the go-around for uphill foot traffic because you can't yield on this feature.
