This is the newly routed section above the former (until 1963) golf fairway, frequently damp during rainy seasons, because it was originally made to be flat.

Crossing Golf Course pond outflow creek. Beautiful bridge built by volunteer singletrack stewards and donations from Trail Pittsburgh. Railings are canted out to prevent handlebar overlap. Photo looks towards Riverview Extension Trail.
Singletrack zig zags between the trees on an off-camber, rooty section next to the fairway. Can be slick at times.

The Horse Trough can be easily missed due to foliage overgrowth. It is at the boundary of a former golf course bridle trail (until 1963), and the location where evidence was found in an August 15, 1979 crime before the development of public-access trails.
