Excellent trail if you like the adrenaline....The scenery and trail itself!
Read everything, and help us to create a more human environment, thanks. This is an amazing trail, definitely difficult but wife did it with me, she is not even an intermediate so she had to push a lot. -FYI and to all my fellow bikers, 4/25/18 between 12pm and 2pm, a fellow biker visiting from Germany, alone and limited with his English, broke his ankle as he was going up on the trail (thunder mountain, counterclockwise) my wife and I were riding clockwise and saw many bikers passing us and heading in the direction of the German tourist which by the time we got to him, we found him not only struggling to make it back to the bottom of the trail with a broken ankle (bone detached, ankle-foot hangin from the tendons only) but he was in so much pain, bleeding and agonizing.... alone!!! We realized that the bikers that passed us earlier, also passed this biker and ignored him completely leaving him behind to fend for himself. We know he was passed numerous occasions by bikers that thought he would’ve been a hassle to their fun, so instead, they decided to leave him behind in the middle of nowhere, and dragging his broken ankle-foot in a trail that is already difficult for a normal-healthy person....all this according to him. My wife, me and another biker, stopped and helped him all the way to the parking. My wife called 911 and stayed with home till ambulance arrived. We provideed our info to him and ambulance crew which till now, after three days, are following the status and recovery of this German, fellow biker. Be kind, be human and think twice next time before you leave someone behind...your bike ride can wait for later! Apr 27, 2018
