On your way up to the overlook, the views begin to open up more and you'll pass this stone pile.
The intersection of the East & West Loops. Stay left to continue up to the "David G. Archer Overlook" as shown on the sign. When descending back to here, be sure to stay to the right to remain on the East Loop.
