Hi first time poster.  I apologize if I'm in the wrong section.

Currently I have a 2015 Ford CMax with a hitch mount Thule T2 Classic.  It will a year old in November (the rack).  My bike is a 2017 SC Tallboy S+ 27.5 tires.

My rack right now is having difficulty opening.  I also can't use the parking sensors on my car (they always detect something in the back).  Opening my trunk has been a minor annoyance as well.

I'm interested in switching into a roof rack with the thule sidearm.  I want your feedback on the roof rack option.  Will my bike tires fit in that rack?

I went down to a place called racknroad where they quoted me at $700 roughly to get the crossbars & thule sidearm installed.  That's with trade in of my current rack of $150.

My questions are:

Does anyone have the thule sidearm rack & how do you like it?

Will my bike tires the 27.5+ fit in the space.

RackNRoad offers two options on the roof rack the door mounted option and permanent (screw in through the roof (more secure but damages the car)).

Would you go with the door mount option or screw in the roof?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Garrett
