New bridge (photo is April '22) at Rt. 29 looking north. The current trail description mentions deep rocky gully that was here, but it's gone now. I typically ride up the left side trail shown, but the two reconnect over the hill.

Moving north from the end of the paved trail, this is the first of the lung-busting, glutes-testing climbs on NW Branch and the optional Copperhead (high ground) route. This one has no stream crossing at the start so you can get momentum and charge up.

A tree is down blocking the trail about halfway through the section. We had to walk our bikes around. The tree is leaning against another tree & looks like the continuous rain lately has caused the tree to fall.
