Coming soon to MTB Project
Be prepared for when the ride goes wrong.
Two new safety features: an offline pocket mechanic, and professional rescue coordination when things go really wrong.
A professional rescue team, one message away.
MTB Project connects you to Overwatch x Rescue (OxR), a global emergency response organization.
On the trail today
- Cell service disappears exactly where trails get remote, and a bad crash there means you're on your own.
- Calling for help can mean an ambulance or helicopter bill you didn't see coming.
What our SOS covers
- A trained coordinator assesses your situation, dispatches the right responders to your coordinates and stays engaged until help arrives.
- Eligible rescue and evacuation costs are paid directly. No claims process, no surprise bills.
Coming next ยท Trailside
A mechanic in your pocket, even off the grid.
Offline-first, voice-first mechanical help โ not for emergencies, but for the flats and bent hangers that end a ride early.
What ends a ride today
- A bent derailleur hanger or bad shifting issues ends the ride, even when the fix could be simple.
- You're out of signal, so looking up a repair video isn't an option.
How Trailside gets you moving again
- Works fully offline. Describe what's wrong by voice, and it walks you through diagnosis.
- Step-by-step field fix instructions, or a bail recommendation for really bad issues.

Questions
What you're probably wondering.
- Is the SOS insurance?
- No. It's an emergency assistance subscription, not an insurance policy. Overwatch x Rescue directly manages and pays eligible rescue costs on your behalf.
- Does the SOS work outside cell service?
- Yes. Compatible devices use cellular or satellite messaging to connect with OxR โ including an iPhone 14+ on iOS 18.5+, eligible Android satellite plans, or a linked Garmin inReach, SPOT X or ZOLEO.
- When does Trailside ship?
- Trailside is landing after onX SOS. Sign up above to get notified when it's ready to try.
- Who's behind this?
- Built by the riders behind MTB Project and onX, with onX SOS powered by Overwatch x Rescue.
