Ely Lake Campground

Overview

With the "no-motor" rule in place, Ely Lake is perfect for kayaks, row boats and stand-up paddle boards, as well as, swimming.

Ely Lake Campground is a primitive campground with wooded campsites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Winter camping is encouraged, as well as, spring, summer and fall camping. There are several short trails around the Ely Lake Campground area as well as a few longer trails that are great for longer adventures.

Ely Lake Campground and the trails are open year round.

Visiting Tips

Hunting takes place all year round, and according to the Allegan State Game Area staff, there is no reason to stay away from the Allegan State Game Area just because of hunting season. It is a safe place to enjoy the forest activities year round, excluding November 15-November 30, which is White-tail Deer rifle season.
