Overview
The Mill Mountain Park trail system offers incredible mountain biking and riding options within 5 minutes of downtown Roanoke. The trails encompass the summit of Mill Mountain and the Roanoke Star. This area offers 500 acres of parkland atop mill Mountain, picnic areas, overlooks that provide 20-60 mile vistas, access to additional riding trails, the Mill Mountain Zoo and the Mill Mountain Discovery Center.
Food & Drink
Grab some coffee, tea, beer, or wine at Sweet Donkey Coffee House & Beer Garden, or have a picnic at the top of Mill Mountain. Once you are done riding, head down the mountain for dinner and drinks at Fork In The Alley (540.982.3675). Another good option, is a visit the Amrhein Wine Cellar for a wine tasting (540.929.4632).
Other Activities
If you are spending more time in the area, visit the Mill Mountain Zoo, and check out the Mill Mountain Discovery Center nature programs (540.853.2236) or explore Roanoke’s premiere art museum – the Taubman Museum of Art (540.342.5760).
