After the Ride: Local Favorites

HIP HOP FISH & CHICKEN Yes, yes, yes! The absolute best fish and chicken that I have ever head since the early days of Popyeye's! Even better than Kochix...sorry but it is! Only missing the sauces.
Mother Rucker Subs Great place, small owned, and awesome tunes!!
Panda Gourmet The lamb with cumin is dry-fried and served under a forest of cilantro, chilis, fat slices of garlic and bell pepper.

The Pretzel Bakery The best thing ever. There's no indoor seating but you should still grab a fresh, delicious pretzel and a coffee at the perfect neighborhood place.
Wah Sing Restaurant Be forewarned: they take cash only.
Thai Orchid's Kitchen EVERYTHING IS AMAZING. Especially the drunken noodles.
Marios pizza Steak n cheese and sausage n mushroom pizza the near!
Roti Mediterranean Grill Great customer service. Had to wait three minutes for rice, so they offered me a free drink and cookie to make up for it!
Food Truck Alley Dropped a co-worker off @ train station and stumbled across this great food truck stop. Previous tips say Tues/Weds are best but today (Thurs) had tons of trucks. Vendors said Tues-Thurs are best.

Busboys and Poets Named after the poet Langston Hughes, this restaurant/bookstore/fair-trade market is a favorite hangout among NPR staffers.
Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery This is one of those places you want to keep a secret. Beautiful space indoors and outdoors. Lovely garden. Best beigents in the DMV and the biscuits with bacon, egg and cheese are to die for.
Seventh Hill Nutella dessert is unbelievable!
