Description
Sun Block begins at the bottom of
Seven Sisters. Take a left before you reach the road. The trail will stay on top of the ridge the whole ride before dropping into the Farmington Lake Rec Area.
Currently, the trail is being reclaimed into a signal track from a doubletrack. There are numerous two-track trails that are blocked with tee post, dead trees, and signs to keep off motorized traffic. This will also help keep you on the correct path.
You can ride back up on the same trail and use it as an out-and-back. You'll exit BLM-managed public land and enter into a fee area close to the end of the trail. If you plan on staying at the lake, you'll have to pay a small day-use fee. It is only a few dollars and prices will be listed at pay station.
Sun Block is another RTP-produced trail from collaboration between the Farmington Bureau of Land Management and San Juan County. The City of Farmington also helped with this addition provided the mountain bike trail opportunity within their recreation area.
