Description

To access this trail, head toward the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway outside of Dillon. If you're coming from Dillon go west on Hwy 278 until you see signs for the Scenic Byway. Take a right to go north on the Scenic Byway. Follow the Scenic Byway until you see signs for Clark Creek Road. Continue along Clark Creek Road following signs for Sawtooth Lake. Park along the roundabout.

Sawtooth Lake Trail is a 3.5 mile with 1,500 feet of elevation gain. The trail starts through a section of new growth trees and eventually climbs into an older forest that was not burned. There are six or seven man-made bridges along the way that cross over creeks. The trail ends at Sawtooth Lake. If you spend time at the lake you might find some of the wreckage from an airplane crash. After peddling and climbing your way to the lake, enjoy your extended downhill section back to your car.
