Description
Bi-directional loop trail at CrossCut Mountain Center. Fun to climb and fun to descend. This is the northern most of two loops at Crosscut Mountain Sports Center. This trail weaves in and out of XC skiing trails, and is mostly singletrack. You can ride it either direction, but some are better than others for descending and climbing. We follow the trail as a figure 8 to avoid some gnarly singletrack climbs.
Once you enter the trails, take a right at the main fork past the gun range. Then you've got a little bit of doubletrack climbing before dropping into singletrack for climbing. We ride counter-clockwise until the warming hut and then run clockwise back around to the warming hut. The SW leg south of the warming hut has some berms and a bit more flow, definitely better for descending. The trail is mostly marked with orange and black markers, but there are few spots where it gets nebulous. The best bet is to follow the warn in singletrack if it's questionable. It's particularly tricky around the warming hut since the trail comes within spitting distance of itself and is also crossing other doubletrack XC trails.
