Need to Know

The junction at the top is not marked well. Be sure not to venture west on Ten Mile Ridge Trail #157 accidentally, bikes are not permitted on that section...

There are motorcycles on this trail at times and there is no water up top.

Description

This trail is best enjoyed as a downhill thrill ride after riding up Wapiti Creek Trail #160 and down Ten Mile Ridge Trail #157. This is a great trail back into the valley. Anyway, this trail starts at a junction on Ten Mile Ridge Trail #157 where bikes are not allowed to go further west.

Enjoy a traverse above McDonald's, MacDonald Creek that is. Then shoot out onto a ridge and down to a knob with views of the valley. The trail continues a steady drop down into Blue Jay Creek before spitting you out at the bottom all too soon.

If you want a 3,000-foot climb from the bottom, you better eat your Wheaties as there is no rest without stopping, just a steady climb to the top.

If you're in the mood for a long, steep climb this is a great trail. Zero deadfall across the trail on this day.
