Description

Rock Creek Road is a long but relatively easy climb from Georgia Highway 60 to the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Bull Mountain Trail Complex. It parallels Rock Creek most of the way and there are a number of cascades and waterfalls along the creek.

About five miles from the start of the trail, you'll reach the Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery, which is used to stock many of the blue-ribbon trout streams in the area.

At seven miles, you'll reach Rock Creek Lake, which has a nice waterfall cascading over the dam. After the lake, the climb to Hightower Gap and FS42 becomes only slightly steeper.

These roads are great for riding if the Bull Mountain trails are too wet or if it's freeze-thaw season. Wear orange if it's hunting season.
