Description

Constructed in 2014 by the MTB Trails Trust, Kaka Track is the main climbing track to the ridgeline and Big Bush Track. The trail is easily accessed from Skating Pond Loop.

Suitable as a two-way trail for intermediate riders, the trail winds up through spectacular beech forest to the accompaniment of native bird song. The trail was named for the Kaka, a large native parrot that is common in the area.

Advance riders use the trail to access the tops of Flying Moa Track, Duck Down Track and Rocky Horror Track.
