Description

Canada Creek Road is shown as continuous on a lot of maps and one of the local guidebooks uses it as part of a loop ride. From Cooper Gap Road FS42-1, a rough gravel road descends toward Canada Creek. As you near the creek, there are two humongous abandoned concrete silos. They seem overbuilt for storing grain, and also in the middle of nowhere.

Shortly thereafter (where this GPS track stops), the road is supposed to continue across Canada Creek. There was a bridge, but it probably hasn't been around since mountain bikes were invented and only the approaches remain. It is possible to ford the creek (by foot or with a bike) just west of the former bridge if the creek is low enough.

However, you'll have to find what's left of the road on the other side. The road bed is still there but it covered in tank traps (2-3 ft earthen berms) every 50-100 ft. These would probably be fun to ride over, but there are a lot of downed trees along the path and the forest is really starting to reclaim this section of the roadbed. Eventually, you'll pop out onto Canada Creek Road - West, which takes you to Gladdistown Road FS15.
