Schleyer is a dearly loved tech trail that packs in loads of rocks and a couple of smooth sections. The beginning starts out pretty benign as it traverse across a few embedded slabs to reach the first drop. There are some different options for hitting it (make sure to scout your favorite), but the right side is formed of a rocky transition that can be hard on tires, rims, and riders if one over zealously hucks it.

Another traverse section leads to a nice rock roll that's biggest challenge is holding on through the brake bumps in the run-out. Up next, a narrow fin of rock leads out to a steeper slab. It appears that you can't roll out on the fin, but it is doable when you commit. Follow this up with a steep roll down that ends at small abrupt drop.

There's no time to dawdle as you'll need to pick a good line through the rocks and bomb-holes to carry enough speed to hit the drop after the next turn. The landing is quite smooth, you just have to make it through the awkward run-in first.

Dirt and a big rock slab roll by quickly as Schleyer approaches the second drop. It's a bit blind and a little steeper, but pretty smooth overall. Bank off the rock slab to thread into the narrow singletrack around the corner. As you work through this next section, remember to look steezy for the crows on the Fitzsimmons Express Lift. Schleyer winds up with a high-speed offering of step-downs and long doubles as it heads to the road above Lower Whistler Downhill, Canadian Open DH, and Detroit Rock City.

Located in the Fitzsimmons Zone, Schleleyer is accessed above the Whistler Village Gondola's mid-way point.
