Another good introduction for new riders to singletrack. Please encourage them to look ahead and yield to pedestrians.
Description
This is a combination run and bike trail with no defined direction. Personally, I think this is a recipe for disaster, but if you travel in a clockwise direction, you'll start at the marked trailhead and hopefully everyone is watching for each other. There are a few blind turns, so slow down and look ahead as best as you can.
It's a fun trail that is maintained by the YMCA; it had just been lopped and weed-eaten when I rode it in late-July, so they probably keep it in good shape all summer.
I found a master plan utilizing all of the old Smoky Hill river channel that will tie this into the Salina trails and up through the currently "no bikes allowed" Lakewood Park. I'm sure this will be a blast when it's completed! I'll keep my eyes open for this and update it as it happens.
