Overview
The Kingsley Shuttle is a great top to bottom route in Post Canyon. You'll be riding
Dirt Surfer (170) and Hybrid (140), two notable trails in the system.
The route is great mix of rowdy and rough sections in addition to some speed, flow and fun.
Need to Know
Post Canyon is a large trail system with a mix of motorized and non-motorized trails. Be sure to check the trail signage if you venture from this route.
The soils here are unique. When it's dry it can be quite dusty and loose. If it rains, it may not be rideable. Check conditions before you ride.
Description
Start at the Kinsgley Staging Area and pedal north on
Binns Hill Road #2000. At the junction with
Road 2400, turn left and head back west staying left at
Reservoir Access Road. The doubletrack climbs a bit from here and bends back around to the north to meet
Road 2400 again. Stay right and then look for
Ken A (170) on the right.
This is where the downhill and the fun starts.
Ken A (also sometimes referred to as a part of
Dirt Surfer (170)) provides a narrow ribbon of singletrack littered with embedded rocks. The more than 1.5 mile-descent is at a surprisingly good grade and little pedaling is required to keep a fun pace.
Along the way, you'll make a crossing over
Road 2400, ride/jump over an angled log that sneaks up on you, and, at the finish, climb your way out of a steep gully. The rest of the time on this trail is spent finding flow and picking lines, and of course, smiling.
Transition right into
Dirt Surfer (170) as you cross over Road
1009.
Dirt Surfer (170) really delivers the high speed on this cheerful section of singletrack. The minimal tech and flowing trail stretching ahead invite riders to pump deep and pedal strong as they chase a great time. A few small tables and optional booters add some wheels up flavor to round out the goodness.
Continue on
Dirt Surfer (172) to a busy intersection with
Riordan Hill Road. You're looking for Hybrid (140), across the road and to your left slightly.
Hybrid is another moto-legal singletrack running along the ridge all the way to the Post Flats Staging Area. The trail is largely comprised of narrow singletrack with shallow berms. Hybrid is used both as a descending and ascending route so be aware, especially on the more exposed areas.
At the lower end of the route, stay left on Trail #115L and follow to the Post Flats staging area.
Turn right onto
Post Canyon Road #1400 and descend to the bottom at Seven Bridges staging area.
