Frequent Deadfall across the trail. Local riders try to keep it clear.

Description

"Welcome to the joys of backcountry navigation. If you are comfortable with difficult route-finding and primitive conditions, this ride’s for you. You won’t find many trail markers, but you'll climb long and steep. You’ll walk a little, you’ll cruise alpine meadows..." -- description for this trail from the local trail guide: Mountain Bike Rides of Idaho's Salmon River Country.

The Meadow Connector trail makes a great loop with Twelvemile Meadow Trail #101 and Porcupine Spring #6059. It can be ridden in either direction.

The trail itself is generally easy to follow but is faint on the upper end as it nears the top of Twelvemile Meadow Trail #101. Be prepared to use the MTB Project mobile app or have a GPS track.

The eastern half of the trail follows on old logging road where a good trail is developing through the young trees on the road bed. Closer to the core, the singletrack leaves the old roadbed and winds through the woods.

The western half of the trail parallels fairly closely to a fence from the top to a small meadow. Stay on the eastern/northern side of the fence ignoring cow trails that may lead otherwise.

The small meadow in the middle of this trail is lush and the tread disappears. If traveling downhill here, cross the meadow, turn left and hug the south side of the meadow following the edge of the treeline until the trail grows more apparent. If traveling uphill do the reverse, cut across the meadow to the right when you meet the fence and soon there is darn good singletrack.
