Overview

This wooded route is great for riders hoping for a little bit of everything! From easy, rolling singletrack to steep, treed climbs, this route has it all!

Description

Start at horse creek parking lot. Take the dirt road, Old Forge Road, up to Old Forge for about 2.5 miles. From here take Jennings Creek Trail (21) up for about 0.75 miles. Pretty flat singletrack, many river crossings. Then make a left turn onto Poplar Cove Trail (22). Very steep, very narrow, many trees and obstacles. I had to push for a while. After about 0.7 miles you are on top. Descent rocky, but fun. Turn left twice. Now you'll be on a washed out Horse Creek Jeeping Trail bringing you back down to the Horse creek parking lot. Again here many creeks to cross, guaranteeing for wet feet.

3 miles gravel road, a dozen mostly walking stream crossings , 45 minute hike a bike. Many down trees. This should NOT be RECOMMENDED ROUTE.

The poplar cove trail is in very poor condition for biking. Be prepared to carry bike much of the way and wear pants - stinging nettle no bueno 7.6mi — 2h 30m
