A boring fire road, but nice views and is a great connector between Big Rock Trail and 680 Trail.

Description

Loma Alta Fire Road is just what it says it is, a fire road. So it is not a destination ride, but it does connect Big Rock Trail and 680 Trail so it can be used to create a nice loop. There is also a nice 360-degree view at the top.

This fire road also has an alternate section that avoids the summit and loops back into itself. We chose not to map that section as the views and the fun are on the main segment that goes to the top, plus the lower section has a lot of cow traffic (yes, cow pies) and in wet weather has some messy sections. It's better to just go to the top.
