Description

The trail starts at the top of South Fork of Horseshoe Canyon / Mahogany Creek. Head east up one more hill (160' in elevation). The trails are a little braided here due to the moto riders in the area. There's some hike-a-bike up the moto trail but a trail heads off to the right and is mostly rideable to the top.

Once on top, soak up the sweeping views. You can watch the trail follow the ridge below you. The 1000'+ descent over 2+ miles that follows is one of the more technical descents that we have in the area. Nice fist size and larger rocks pave the first section. Follow that up with a steeper, loose rocky section.

Next you hit the trees and the trail turns into steep, tight, twisty dirt with lots of 1-2' root drops. At the doubletrack hang a hard left. Now it really opens up with a fast (some small climbs) track back to the Horseshoe Canyon road with plenty of jumps along the way. You'll end up on the road across from the Bovine TH. Take a left and head back to the large Horseshoe Canyon parking lot or right and ride the road back to Mahogany.

There are options to loop with Mahogany or South Fork Horseshoe.
