Description

The hiking trail (also called Lake Trail) makes a complete 6.5 mile hiking loop around lake Crabtree. This section of Lake Trail allows shared use with mountain bikes, but is an extremely popular section with hikers. The biking portion of the Lake trail connects the eastern park entrance at Old Reedy Creek Road/Black Creek Greenway to the White Oak picnic shelter inside the park.

As a hiking trail, it offers great opportunities to view wildlife, and several benches to relax and enjoy the view of the lake.

As a biking trail, it is a very fast flowing section of trail which easily invites fast riding, but please remember that hikers could be just around the next bend in the trail. Save your need for speed for Highland Trails 2, 3 and 4, which rarely have hikers on them. The trail is mostly flat, but it does have one hill climb as you approach the boat ramp parking lot.
