Description

This trail is best ridden down, which means it must be accessed from the dirt road at the top. To get there, either descend the dirt road from Canaan Heights or ascend it from the terminus of the Splash Dam Trail or from the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Blackwater river.

The trail is well blazed and starts with a gentle ascent across a beautiful meadow with boulders and often grazing deer. The ascent steepens for a short climb over some rocks as it enters forest. Shortly after, the descent begins. There are a few tight turns and a short section of rock garden. Not particularly steep, it flows pretty well and is well worth the ride up. At its terminus, connect to Splash Dam South Trail to return to Davis or take the bridge to access the CVI trails.
