Overview

A great quick trail close to the Spokane area that can be ridden in either direction. There are numerous other trails that branch off and offer more riding and more views.

Need to Know

When riding down the creek where there is limited visibility, watch for hikers and other large mammals. This trail is popular with people, deer, and moose.

Description

The climb (over 1,000 ft.) is an excellent workout and there are many great places to stop and take in the scenery and take a break. Once on top of the ridge it gets fairly flat and shaded for about a quarter mile and then there are a few more short steeper climbs.

When you pass the old truck left in the woods on your right you know you are close to the Big Rock ridge that faces the south. once amongst the large monoliths take time to look around and to recover from the climb because the ride down has the potential to get your heart rate back up. It gets narrow and dark down by the creek so be careful if you are wearing sunglasses and watch your head on low trees.
