The south end of this trail lies at the quarry end of Rattlesnake and is a continuation of the Redstone Quarry.
At some point in the 1940's, the quarry piled excess crushed granite off to the side, which made a spine that winds through the woods. The trail rides right on top of this grout pile, as some refer to it, and winds through old machinery and historic buildings.
The trail is named for the Swenson family who played a big part in preserving the quarry history.
