Description

This summer work road, best accessed from the Expresso Trail, provides access to the incredible views at the top of Elk Camp, including the Maroon Bells. Of course, a majority of riders will instead hope to ride the Elk Camp Chairlift as part of access to the Snowmass Bike Park downhill trail system, including the Vapor Trail.

This dirt road climb is included here in part because it's used during the Power of Four mountain bike race. On the lower slopes, the grade is mostly reasonable with a couple short flat spots. The road gets steeper and has increasing amounts of loose rock as it approaches the top.

Not recommended for downhill use.
