You'll be riding past Mt. Elbert, the tallest peak in Colorado, which tops out at 14,440 ft.

Twin Lakes has a food truck & general store for supplies.

The trail starts at the Halfmoon Parking area for Mt Elbert. It is a bit of a climb for the first couple of miles, with some loose rock, but with relatively low hike-a-bike.

You'll have plenty of company on this route, with hikers attempting to hike Mt. Elbert, the highest peak in Colorado, and people taking in the sites at Twin Lakes.

This route is beautiful in the fall, especially around Twin Lakes, where the fall colors reflect off the water.
