Description

This is the oldest trail in Mountwood Park and runs north to south, connecting to a lot of trails and historical features from Mountwood's past as the site of a 19th century oil boom region. Named after one of the area's longest-surviving oilfield workers, the Walter Taitt trail terminates at its southern end at the Stiles Mansion ruins, which sit above the historic oil town of Volcano. There is a lot of fascinating history here, and the interpretive signs at the various ruins are well worth a read.
