Description

Bloodshed is a loop that is built just north of the XX Extension and is considered a one-way trail. The entrance to Bloodshed is best approached from the west end of XX Extension and starts with a steep downhill into and out of a ravine that used to be a feeder canal for the Cal-Sag Channel.

The trail enters the ravine again where the trail rides up and down each side for five turns until exiting the ravine. An easy logover, some easy singletrack, and a slightly more difficult logover lead to a foundation for a long forgotten structure. Stay to the right of the stairs to drop into the foundation. Keep your momentum up in order to climb out the steep rise on the opposite side.

The trail then drops through a doorway in an old concrete structure. A tight turn left and a slight climb lead to the final section which runs downhill. At the bottom of the downhill, the trail will dip into the same ravine from the beginning of Bloodshed. A short rocky climb will bring you back up to XX Extension. Turning left will take you to the entrance/exit of XX Extension. Turning right will bring you back toward the Bloodshed entrance.
